HCG diet: can it be as useful as weight loss surgery
16 July, 2011
HCG diet is being talked across the world. Meanwhile people wonder if it can be as useful as weight loss surgery
Is HCG dangerous for health? Doctors are having varied views on the question. Since no study has proven that human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG) is a perfect solution for weight loss, many physicians hesitate to prescribe the method for their obese patients.
HCG may be unsafe because its pairs the pregnancy hormone. People need to take the hormone via injection twice a day, restricting their meal to get only 500 calories a day. It is the best way an obese patient can remain hunger-free, at the same time fat-free.
But many obesity experts are against the method of treatment. They think that restricting foods to get only 500 calories a day will result in malnutrition or other health disorders. While many others say HCG supplement will help regulate the hypothalamus and metabolism rate in a person, resulting in a cut of almost 1 pound a day.
“On 500 calories with HCG twice daily, patients are not hungry, not tired, do not experience headaches, and actually feel much more energetic, and healthier than they have ever felt,” says Dr. Janee Steinberg, an HCG provider.
However, the final question is whether we can take in HCG as a safe method for body weight cut. There needs to have detailed studies on the efficacy and aftereffects of such a diet system, which is gaining soil around the world.
People should know whether HCG will real cause any critical health disorders or will it be a perfect method to cut down excessive body weight.
